Whisbee time
When you Whisbee with me
And we couldn't bring out Zoe
For she would eat it
But we still manage to keep it away

When I'm older I'll get better

In the backyard
When you air bounce to me
And I barely nab it
Because it goes up too high for me

But I still have fun trying

And after dinner
We go outside to throw it around
With the evening sun right in my eyes
Unless I stand in the shadows

But yet, I get better

Even when the Whisbee goes over the fence
When I quickly hop over and avoid detection
Throw it back to a waiting you
Then, when we get too hot we go back in

And I keep getting better, because of you

If something was dangerous

Was kind or not.

Just Another Day At The Barn

Just Another Day At The Barn

Today will be just the same as all the others

One more person to get ridden by

I’m in the stall again,

I hate the stall.

I start to whiney at a person walking by,

‘Okay Rowdy, I’ll take you out’

She says.

‘Yes, I’m going to the field now’

I’m thinking as she guides me out.

‘Tomorrow is a show and Kristen will be riding you’

She tells me.

‘Oh great’

I think

‘Now she’s going to make me all purdy for the judges’

She brushes my hair and braids it,

How I hate the braids.

Now I’m in the field roaming free

Before Kristen gets here to practice

I think I’ll sneak into the arena

For a little free time

Before I get ridden

‘Yeah, I’ll go get Rowdy to start riding’

I hear Kristen say as she arrives

She comes in to ride me and gets me saddled up

To ride me on

We practice for a while and then she goes home

Today is the show, I get some apples

                                                     Before we head off to the show,

We get to the show and Kristen gets ready to ride me

First we’re doing English Showmanship

And we have to show me off ‘cause I look good

We’re in front of the judges now and I’m holding in a big fart

‘C’mon keep it in Rowdy’

I think to myself

For the girl’s sake

‘I can’t hold it any longer.’

I think again

PFFFFFFFT!!!

I fart.

We end up getting a bronze and 3^rd place

I feel so bad for Kristen getting a bronze

But, at least she got a medal

Some people didn’t get anything

I continue at the show for the day

And then we head back

‘Just another day at the barn’

I say to myself as I lay down in my tiny, cramped stall.

You Can't Write A Poem About Ultimate Frisbee

You can't write a poem about Ultimate Frisbee
We start the games,
Get our checks
We run for it.
I get the disc
One throw gets up the field
Near the end zone,
I sprint up
Take a dive,
That's it, I scored!
Total points on that shift
3 for us
1 for them.
I'm off next shift
6-3 for us,
Now I'm back on,
This time we pull it.
They walk out calmly
One person grabs it,
Everyone else sprints
To the zone.
They throw a long bomb,
I dive to intercept,
And whack it
Out of the air.
I take the disc to the line
Toss it out,
A teammate catches and waits,
When we come
He throws it up,
I bolt faster than I ever have
I take a dive and grab it!
I'm still falling
I have a mouthful
Of grassy dirt and think
Could this taste any worse?
The game's almost done
It's 9-4
I see the disc coming,
A bright, orange circle,
Flying through the sky.
We can get one last point,
I receive it in the zone!
We win 10-4
Teams shake hands.

Prediction of The Giver

We predict that Jonas will get the job of memory keeper and that being a memory keeper means that he can see into the past to what it was like before the community got so strict. He will see all of the wars that happened and why the community got so strict. We think this because Jonas is different than everyone else and he deserves a job of high honour.

Utopia And Dystopia

My depiction of a utopia consists of very bright, happy things, everything is growing and surviving. There are no wars or even arguments; for that matter; there is no pollution and always flowers.
My depiction of a dystopia consists of a black, dark, frightening sky; broken, abandoned houses. People are in the street, dead and plenty of pollution in the air. Nothing plant-like can survive so there are no flowers in the area.

Answer to 3: The grandparents are yelling because 'Killer Kane' is out of jail and the grandparents are loudly discussing whether or not to get a gun, Gram doesn't want to get one but Grim might want to get one behind her back. They want one because Killer Kane isn't allowed to be within 1 mile of their house, but if he does come in that area, Grim wants to be able to defend himself and his family with a gun.

Freak The Mighty Connection
So far in Freak The Mighty, Freak and Max have found a damaged purse in a sewer grate and it had ID in it, they found the person that the ID belonged to and gone to their house. The person was Loretta Lee whose husband knows Max's dad. Then they went home.
I can connect to this story because 2 years ago my mom wouldn't let me bike a couple blocks to Kyle's house alone, so I started acting more mature and doing chores when I wasn't asked and my mom let me bike to Kyle's alone. Now she allows me to bike to his house and then head to Harrison Park to play tennis. This is like how Max is now getting treated like an adult because he has been acting like one.

Answer to 4: I think he wants to be a 'robot man' because he might've been made fun of in the past because of his state of body and he might want to overcome the bullies. Also he might just feel bad with his crippled legs so he wants to be better.

In the story 'Freak The Mighty', Max, a giant 7th grader narrates his life and all his troubles, he has a flashback to kindergarten when he met a little boy that he called 'Freak' and how he always pretended he was a robot boy and would make robot noises. He later realizes that the same boy is moving in in the apartment near him.
I predict that Max will head back home, collect himself, go back and try to make friends with 'Freak' and will combine their strengths and become 'Freak the mighty'. I predict this because the story title is 'Freak the mighty' so I believe they will come together in the end and become the mighty. I believe that 'Freak' is really smart and Max is really strong so they will combine and become indestructible.

Connection By Patrick

So far in the story, Max has brought Kevin to the down under (Max's room) and talked to him and has figured out that Kevin isn't a bad person at all but quite nice. In the middle of their talk, they heard someone calling " KEVIN! KEVIN!" and realized it was 'Fair Gwen of Air' and so Kevin and Max came out to have Gwen quickly grab Kevin and plop him into the wagon and run home away from Max.
I can relate to the story because in grade 2 I met Ari in the other class and thought he was a not-so-great kid but then after I got to know him, I learned that he was and still is really nice.
This is just like how Max thought Kevin was weird and mean but after getting to know him, he realized that he wasn't bad.

Wonderstruck, by Brian Selznick
In the book Wonderstruck, two stories of two different people get told, one in pictures and one in words, those stories keep switching between each other. The stories are based fifty years apart.Ben and Rose are the main characters and are very much different but have one thing in common, they both want their lives to change. They both make the journey to New York City and meet some pretty odd people, but in the end the similarity between the stories is huge.
I would recommend this book to people ages 10-adult and to people who like the big adventure genre.

Diary of a wimpy kid cabin fever
In the sixth installment of the series, Greg finds himself around Christmas time and he faces even more challenges this time, like getting framed for a crime he sort-of committed, accidentally doing a good deed, or the biggest of all, getting trapped in his own home because of the level of snow outside.
I would recommend this book to people ages 8-14 or so. Also to people who like the comedy genre.
This book is available at most book stores that I know of.
